Red Tomato Restaurant and Lounge, Langkawi

One of our favourite spots to eat in Langkawi is the Red Tomato Restaurant and Lounge on Pantai Cenang. The atmosphere is funky and friendly and the food always good. Comfortable air conditioned indoors, lots of fresh salads, pastas and home made bread, alongside a well priced drink list make the Red Tomato a popular place to recharge your batteries and escape the afternoon heat. Lots of gluten free options too - even bread, pasta and pizza that skips this tummy upsetting ingredient. This time round we just popped in for a quick visit. Hubby ordered his 'usual' Banana Pancakes (personally I prefer a more leavened variety but he lapped up the flat rounds, with consideration of a second order).  I chose the Nicoise Salad and was happily contented with the packed bowl brimming with beans, tuna, egg and a home made dark bread roll. Salads here are equivalent to main meals here so worthy of ordering all on their own or as a starter to share. See this previous post for a more detailed review on the Red Tomato Restaurant and Lounge Langkawi.

Reason to visit: excellent salads, home made breads, gluten free options

  3. yummy-looking banana pancake. though i'd have been greedy and asked them whether they could pile up some strawberries and apples on top of it to make it a fabulously fruity one! :D
